Licensed Home Care and Personal Care Services

All Pacifica Medical staff are bonded and insured. Before they work, our employees have had criminal background checks, drug screening, HPPA education, OSHA testing, and an ANA-equivalent skills test relative to their license and/or certification. All staff must have at least two professional references and a minimum of 1-year of post-graduate experience before they can work for us.

With our large staff of caregivers and nurses we are typically able to respond to the needs of our clients and staff cases within 24 hours.

Nurses and Caregivers can be hired for four (4), eight (8), or twelve (12)-hour shifts, or for a discounted daily rate depending on the level of care provided, and the type of caregiver or nurse requested.
Pacifica Medical also has a division of nurses that travel with the patient (for our jet-setting clients), nurses to care for a patient while “in town” for a domestic vacation, and nurses for post-surgical procedures, including cosmetic surgery.

Types of Service

Skilled Nursing
Pacifica Medical is a Licensed Home Health Agency, having met the stringent requirements set forth by the Department of Health Services. Skilled nursing services are the highest level care available outside of a hospital or nursing home. Services are provided by licensed nurses and professionals of various medical disciplines.

This is “top-drawer” service and care that is managed under the guidance of our Director of Medicine and Director of patient Care Services.

Types of Licensed, Skilled Services

Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses evaluate and assess patient medical needs and render treatment, instruction and teaching. They provide the highest level of skilled care.

Physical Therapist assess the patient physical condition and physical therapy plan in order to help the patient with their activities and alleviate and prevent pain, and safe ambulation, transfer, balance, gait.

Occupational Therapists work in conjunction with other services for patient to adapt function in activities of daily living.
Medical Social Worker assesses the client’s psychosocial needs, and long term planning to adjust in the community.

Speech Therapist evaluates speech problems and works to improve communication abilities.

Registered Dieticians determine dietary needs and create a personal nutritional care plan.

Companion Care:

Companion care services are typically for elderly patients that will benefit from some assistance in performing daily tasks that become increasingly difficult as we age.

Companion care services can be provided on an hourly basis, as a daily service, or as live-in services for any duration of time.

Pacifica Health Services' professional staff is able to provide caregivers that are a "good fit" for the individual patient based on the preferences of each client.

We encourage our clients to provide us with feedback regarding our nurses and caregivers and, as a policy, we are always happy to replace any caregiver until the client finds just the person they are looking for to provide care for the patient.

Respite Care:

Respite care is short-term temporary care provided to anyone who is ill or infirmed in any way, or for people who are recovering from surgery or illness.

Respite care can be provided to children, adults, and the elderly, and can even be provided for patients who have undergone elective surgeries such as cosmetic enhancements.

Because respite care is a service for such a broad range of patients and for patients with varied needs the types of caregivers/nurses that provide the care varies depending on the individual case.

Respite care can be in the temporary residence of the patient, at home, or in the hospital as a compliment to inpatient care.

Fees and Terms:

Nurses and Caregivers can be hired for four (4), eight (8), or twelve (12)-hour shifts, or for a discounted daily rate depending on the level of care provided, and the type of caregiver or nurse requested. Current flat rates for standard services are always available upon request.

For our clients that are interested in hiring a caregiver or nurse directly, Pacifica has a "Temp to Hire" program that allows the client to use our caregivers on an hourly rate basis and eventually hire the caregiver they prefer for a set fee.

Prices and fees vary depending on the terms of employment, the level of caregiver hired, and the client's location. Other factors, such as the amount of time a client will need our services and the availability of the requested type of caregiver, are considerations that may determine the cost of services.
